ARK: Finale

Leon crosses the B4 and B5 repositories among Licker β2s, lowers the tubes with two switches, takes the Override Key from Systems Management and holds out through the last wave in Repository 11; Grace reaches PANDORA and decides the fate of Elpis; with Release Elpis, the final fight against Victor Gideon

You play Leon, then Grace, then Leon again Victor Gideon (Release Elpis only) Laptop and Supply Box in the B4 Staff Room (the last one) Tracking Module (Legendary) · files #74 and #75 Cat Got Your Tongue?: before the Repository 11 lift Choice: Release Elpis or Destroy Elpis

Chapter order: Leon: Dump → ladder → Back Room (12.7x55mm Ammo) → Connecting Corridor (coughing fit) → B4 Staff Room (laptop, Supply Box) → Bioweapon Repository 11 (Tracking Module (Legendary)) → Bioweapon Repository 12 Walkway → Bioweapon Repository 12 (B5, 4 Lickers): switch 1 → Generator Room: switch 2 → Systems Management (Override Key (Bioweapon Repository 11)) → Repository 11: 6 Lickers → B4 Staff Room (save, repair) → Override Key: 7 ARK Zombies → B4 Staff Room: final shopping → lift → PANDORA (cutscene) → Grace: Archives (files #74 and #75, Case Closed) → Study → East Elevator → Central Portal → PANDORA: the choice → Leon: Victor Gideon (Release Elpis only) → credits.

Prepare: this is the last stretch with a Supply Box. Leon has The Commander’s Mortal Edge: equip it, because its parry window is much wider than the Hatchet’s and here every Licker β2 attack (claws and tongue) can be parried. In the B4 Staff Room redeem the Tracking Module (Legendary) (10,100) and spend it all before the lift: power, ammo, Med Injectors (1,500), armour repair. Craft all your Gunpowder, Scrap and herbs. Game8 maxes the Hatchet and carries the Mortal Edge as a backup. Keep every round of 12.7x55mm Ammo for Victor (you find 3 more here) and at least one Stacked Hand Grenade for his last phase: PowerPyx spends grenades on the Repository 11 zombie wave, but Game8 and IGN keep them for the boss, so the safe call is to reach Victor with at least one. Make a manual save in the B4 Staff Room: there’s no chapter select, and that save lets you replay the final choice and the boss. Leon saves for free on every difficulty. Missable trophy Cat Got Your Tongue? (500 CP): cut a Licker β2’s tongue off by parrying (L) its tongue attack, with the Hatchet or the Mortal Edge still sharp. There are Lickers only until the Repository 11 lift: try from the very first one, on the Repository 12 walkway.

Walkthrough

You play Leon S. Kennedy, then Grace Ashcroft for the choice, then Leon again for the final boss. Leon’s Switch 2 controls: L parry, L + Y sharpen, A kick or throw, R heal.

Dump → Back Room (B4). With the crane lifted by Grace, climb the ladder. In the Back Room, a small office: 1 Scrap in the trash can in front of the desks (SW), 12.7x55mm Ammo ×1 in the small case on the east side, by the window, and 2 Plastic Crates (north side and on the desks in the middle).

Connecting Corridor (B4). 2 ARK Zombies mid-corridor; one holds a weapon: parry its lunge or keep your distance. A third zombie waits at the north end (on Insanity, a Licker β2 instead). Here Leon has a scripted coughing fit: your vision turns purple and blurry, you can’t attack for the first few seconds and you move slowly for a few more. Back off and shoot once it passes; it can happen again. Hand Grenade on a trolley at the end of the corridor: as you enter the room at the north end, turn right; it’s in the SE corner.

B4 Staff Room (safe room). Laptop on the west side, Supply Box in the NW corner, Med Injector in the medical case on the central table, Plastic Crate in the NE corner. The wall terminal shows the map: two repositories and a lift. Save.

Bioweapon Repository 11 (B4). Up the stairs, door on the right. The occupants of the tanks stay inside “for now”.

Bioweapon Repository 12 Walkway (B4). 1 Licker drops in the NW corner. On Insanity there are 3: one in the NE as you approach and two more (NE and NW) as you reach the NW corner.

Bioweapon Repository 12 (B5). 4 Licker β2s (2 on Insanity). Per IGN, three wait below; as you start down the stairs a vent cover drops and a fourth attacks you: kill it fast with the rifle or shotgun. The other three come out of the vents (above the locked upper door, in the SE corner where you entered the walkway and at the SW end of the upper walkway). Back into a corner, or snipe them from the walkway if they didn’t hear you. Against a Licker, parry the leap and counter. The zombies in the red-tinted tubes (NW, middle and east) stay put unless a stray bullet or an explosion breaks the glass: watch your aim. Pickups: Green Herb in the SW storage container; Plastic Crate in the middle container (IGN: another Licker crawls out to meet you there); Plastic Crate in the NE corner; Plastic Crate at the NW end of the northern alcove; Green Herb on the shelves opposite the east stairs, with another Plastic Crate in the corner.

Switch 1: the red button on the console by the glowing red pod, left of where you drop down. The tubes lower and open the way west to the Generator Room.

Generator Room (B5). 2 Licker β2s (none on Insanity): one in front and one on the far wall; IGN hits them with a Stacked Hand Grenade (2 Hand Grenades combined in the case; if you only have one, use the shotgun and keep it for Victor) and finishes with the shotgun. Gunpowder (Large) in the NW corner and a Plastic Crate in the SW. Switch 2: the red button on the south side lowers the second set of tubes in the SE of Bioweapon Repository 12 and opens the stairs. Insanity: pressing it spawns 1 Licker and 3 ARK Zombies break out of their pods in Repository 12.

Trophy Cat Got Your Tongue? (500 CP). Per PowerPyx it can only be earned in this Leon section (the Stockroom tank Licker β2 in chapter 13 is also a Licker, but no guide confirms it counts): cut a Licker β2’s tongue off by parrying (L) its tongue attack just before it reaches Leon, with the Hatchet or the Mortal Edge still sharp. Lickers rarely use the tongue: keep your distance, walk back and forth and wait. The Mortal Edge’s wide window helps. Any Licker on the Repository 12 walkway, in Repository 12, the Generator Room or Repository 11 counts; riding the Repository 11 lift ends the Lickers for good.

Systems Management (B4). Climb the east stairs of Repository 12.

Repository 11 defence. On Casual and Standard, 6 Licker β2s are on the ceiling when you come back (they appear once you take the key). Go in slowly. IGN’s method: Stacked Hand Grenade at the group up on the left → when more come to investigate, shoot a Red Explosive Canister → run right and shoot the second one to stop the flank; parry and counter with the shotgun (don’t spend Requiem rounds: they’re for Victor). On Insanity the Lickers aren’t there when you enter: they drop in after you use the key. PowerPyx stands in the corner with his back to the console and lets them come from both sides. Afterwards, go back to the B4 Staff Room: save, repair and buy whatever ammo you’re missing for the wave (IGN saves before using the key).

The last wave. Use the Override Key on the red console: 7 ARK Zombies burst out of the central pods. Get into a corner, thin the group with the SMG, then rifle or handgun and shotgun up close, and use any red canisters left. With 3 zombies lined up, one Requiem shot earns Bang for your Buck (only if you have a round to spare) if you don’t have it yet (a suggestion; no guide proposes it here). This is the last fight against regular enemies in the game: the lift arrives and the doors unlock.

Final shopping (B4 Staff Room). Sell whatever you won’t use against Victor, spend every credit on power, ammo and healing, craft everything and repair your armour. Make a manual save in another slot. Ride the lift up: Leon limps to the yellow door of the Central Refining System and the cutscene starts.

Grace: Archives. Grace finishes watching Alyssa’s video. During the cutscene the files Alyssa’s Interview Notes (#74) and Letter from Patrick (#75) are added automatically: they can’t be missed. If you’ve read all 75, Case Closed (3,000 CP) pops after the cutscene; if you missed one, it can’t be recovered in this playthrough (load an earlier save or get it on your next run). Leave through the door on the left: Study Entry → Study (Spencer’s old study, with a portrait and a wheelchair; no pickups) → East Elevator in the SE corner → Central Portal: examine Leon’s body in front of the big yellow door.

PANDORA: the choice. Zeno waits in PANDORA. Grace bargains: she’ll enter the password if Zeno spares Leon. VGC says the last autosave is just before Grace finds Leon, so you can see both endings by reloading.

Boss — Victor Gideon

Release Elpis only. You play Leon in the arena below PANDORA (Evil Resource calls it the Gene Vault). Two phases: a mutated human form with a tentacle arm and a Nemesis form (Victor carried a Nemesis-type parasite). Every one of his melee attacks can be parried, in both phases. After a parry he steps back a pace: shoot him (shotgun, handgun or SMG); you don’t need to counter with the hatchet. Evil Resource lists ammo in the arena: Handgun Ammo ×18 (during phase 2), 8 shotgun shells, 9 rifle rounds and 70 Machine Gun Ammo; IGN finds crates with Rifle Ammo and Med Injectors.

Phase 1: mutated human form.

  1. Melee. He strolls toward you and side-dashes to dodge gunfire. Tentacle attacks: single swipe, double swipe, 3-hit combo, long-reach thrust, overhead slaps, backhands, lunging stabs, a quick crouching flick (parry immediately or sidestep) and a close-range kick (parryable). Parry and shoot for the head in the pauses.
  2. Down on one knee. With enough damage he staggers and kneels: a melee prompt appears (a few hits and a finisher). Use the breather to break the arena crates (ammo and Med Injectors).
  3. Electric part. He leaps onto a platform or scrap pile and absorbs ARK’s electricity. You have about 10 seconds to unload on him (PCGamesN); Game8 uses the Requiem here. Then:
    • a glowing line (blue or purple depending on the guide) runs along the floor toward you and electrified tendrils strike along it: it only goes straight, so run sideways in time;
    • a glowing circle under your feet: he leaps and slams it with a large area. Sprint out and punish him with the Requiem while he gets up. It can’t be parried (VGC). Sharpen the hatchet during this pause;
    • then a shoulder charge: parry or sidestep.
    • VGC: the hardest move is a leap with a tentacle dive-bomb followed by his body, which needs 2 quick parries in a row (mostly on Insanity).
  4. Each cycle gets faster. Late in the phase he laughs and flails the tentacle in every direction: many parries in a row. Rifle while he’s far, the other guns when he’s close, Requiem to the head whenever he stands still.
  5. The RPG-7. He pulls out an RPG-7: shoot him quickly so he drops it, pick it up (make room: auto-sort the case) and fire it at him. You get 1 rocket: don’t miss. This ends phase 1.

Phase 2: Nemesis form. A giant flesh mass on the far wall and very little room to move; it’s short.

  1. 3 glowing red pustules: the head and each arm or shoulder. Use the SMG (Game8: best for its fire rate) or the rifle. TheGamer does the side ones first.
  2. Dodge: single arm smashes, alternating smashes, an overhead two-arm smash and slams that move outward from his body. Sidestep back and forth or parry: everything can be parried.
  3. Floor cluster. With the 3 pustules gone he explodes and slumps: a cluster of pustules appears along his base. A Stacked Hand Grenade in the middle of the cluster usually clears it all (IGN); otherwise shotgun or one bullet each. Then he slams the ground rapidly: keep away.
  4. Second cycle: 5 pustules on the head and upper arms. Face ones first; wait for his arms to drop before the arm ones and defend while they’re raised. Another floor cluster: grenades.
  5. The grab. He grabs Leon (scripted): mash the button to break free and complete the last prompt sequence. Leon finishes him. Credits.

Reward: the good ending, Hope and Requiem and, if you’re under 4 hours, Speed Demon. The epilogue and the post-credits scene close the story. Finishing the story on any difficulty unlocks Insanity; Leon Must Die Forever (a free update, unlocked by finishing the story) and the rest of the post-story content are on this guide’s Extras page.

Don’t leave without: redeeming the Tracking Module (Legendary) before the lift, the 12.7x55mm Ammo from the Back Room (1) and Systems Management (2), and the Cat Got Your Tongue? trophy before riding the Repository 11 lift: no Lickers remain after it. If you want Case Closed, reach the Archives with the 73 earlier files read. Keep a manual save in the B4 Staff Room to replay the choice and the boss.
