Characters

Who is who.

Ethan Winters

Protagonist; a civilian systems engineer

Chapters 1-5, 7 and 8 · Ethan Must Die

He comes to Louisiana after a message from his wife Mia, missing for 3 years. He is no soldier: everything he learns to do, he learns in that house. He returns in Resident Evil Village. Voice: Todd Soley (English) and Javier Lorca (Spanish).

Mia Winters

Ethan's wife; boss and playable character

Chapters 1, 2 ("Mia" tape), 6 and 8 · Jack's 55th Birthday

Held by the Bakers. In chapter 1 she is the first boss, twice: you fend her off with the Axe, then she comes back with a chainsaw in the attic (block her charge and she is stunned). You play her on the "Mia" tape, the Old Videotape and the chapter 6 ship, which reveals her past. If you give Zoe the Serum (ending 2), Eveline takes her over and she is a boss again on the ship: you fight her with the Crowbar lying on the floor.

Peter "Pete" Walken

Sewer Gators presenter

Chapter 1 ("Derelict House Footage" tape)

He leads the show's shoot at the Guest House in June 2017. His fate is never shown: the Living Room newspaper reports him missing and the List of Names (Back) marks him dead.

Andre Stickland

Sewer Gators producer

Chapter 1 ("Derelict House Footage" tape)

He gets separated from the group in the Guest House. The tape ends when Clancy finds out what happened to him: Jack took him.

Clancy Jarvis

Sewer Gators cameraman; playable on tapes

Chapters 1 and 4 · Nightmare · Bedroom · 21

He films "Derelict House Footage" and "Happy Birthday". The Bakers hold him prisoner: you play him in three Banned Footage modes (Nightmare, Bedroom and 21).

Zoe Baker

The Bakers' daughter; your guide on the phone

Chapters 1-5 · Daughters · End of Zoe

She calls you from chapter 1 on ("There should be a way out through the attic"). She wants her family cured and to get out. The Antique Coin birdcages are in her Trailer in the Yard. With the D-Series Arm and the D-Series Head she makes the Serum. Her fate depends on who gets it. She is the lead of Daughters.

Jack Baker

The father, an ex-Marine; stalker and boss

Chapters 1, 2 and 5 · Nightmare · Daughters · Jack's 55th Birthday · End of Zoe

"Welcome to the family, son!" He regenerates from anything. In the Main House he hunts you and can't be killed: knock him down and run. Fights: the Garage (use the car), the Morgue (Chainsaw) and Mutated Jack at the Boat House (inject the Serum at the end). Spanish voice: Vicente Gil.

Marguerite Baker

The mother; controls insects

Chapters 2 ("Mia" tape) and 3 · Bedroom · Ethan Must Die · Daughters

She roams the Old House with her lantern; her "babies" are insects. Fights: the Old House pit and the Greenhouse. "Back Off, Mrs. B!" challenge if you drive her off while she patrols.

Lucas Baker

The son; a trap engineer

Chapters 2 and 4 · 21 · Daughters · Not a Hero

He runs the barn "games" in the Testing Area: the "Happy Birthday" tape and the Party Room. In the campaign he is no boss: you face his traps. He is the final boss of Not a Hero.

The Old Woman (Grandma)

A silent woman in a wheelchair

Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 8

You see her asleep at the dinner table and then all over the estate. She never attacks: ignore her. Who she really is is one of the story's twists.

David Anderson

Dulvey Parish deputy sheriff

Chapter 2

He knocks on a Main House window, hands you the Knife and tells you to meet him in the Garage. He doesn't believe Ethan's story, and Jack kills him in the Garage. His G17 Handgun is left there.

Eveline

The girl in the visions; final boss

Visions from chapter 3 · Chapters 6 and 8 · Daughters

She wants a family, and everyone infected hears her voice. Against her: block the shockwaves to advance, and shoot her eyes and face with the strongest weapon you have.

Alan Droney

Special agent; Eveline's escort in 2014

Chapter 6 (Old Videotape)

Mia's partner on the tanker in the 2014 tape. The credits list him as "Alan Douglas"; the files call him Droney.

Chris Redfield

BSAA captain; lead of Not a Hero

Chapter 8 · Not a Hero · End of Zoe

A series veteran since the first Resident Evil. He arrives at the end by helicopter with Blue Umbrella and, mid-fight against Eveline, drops Ethan a crate with the Albert-01. In Not a Hero he hunts Lucas through the mines: deflects, punches and RAMRODs. Here he has a different face and voice (David Vaughn).

Veronica

Blue Umbrella radio support

Not a Hero

She guides Chris from HQ and helps him with the bomb on his wrist.

Joe Baker

Jack's older brother; lead of End of Zoe

End of Zoe

An ex-Marine who lives alone in the swamp. He fights with his fists and Eveline never infected him. He sets out to save his niece Zoe. He gets the AMG-78 gauntlet near the end.

Hoffman

Another of Lucas's prisoners; your 21 opponent

21 (Banned Footage Vol. 2)

He plays blackjack against Clancy, with fingers and lives at stake. He talks about his wife and his daughter Melissa. Survival and Survival+ bring his variants: Molded Hoffman, Mr. Big Head and Undead Hoffman.
