Enemies — bestiary

how to kill each thing spending the least · bosses have their own page · entries written from the RE Wiki and community guides, not yet verified shot by shot in play

Ganado (villager)

Ganado 1-1 → 2-3 · 4-2 (mine) · 4-3 (ruins)

One shot to the knee or the face and a melee finisher: that's how you save ammo through the whole village. Keep your distance from axe and sickle carriers (they throw them) and stay away from torches and dynamite.

Blowing the head off can release a Plaga: back off and use a flash grenade.

Weak point
Head (critical) and knee (knocks them down → kick or suplex)
Drops
Pesetas, ammo, herbs; sometimes a Spinel

Bella Sisters

Special 2-3 (left route, the camp)

Two chainsaws at once: never let them flank you. Fight from the top of a ladder and kick it down when they climb. Shotgun to the face or a Hand Grenade to knock them down and TMP while they are on the ground; an Incendiary Grenade knocks them down too. One chainsaw hit = death.

Weak point
Head, same as Dr. Salvador
Drops
One drops a Ruby (10,000pts), the other the Camp Key

Colmillos (wolves)

Special 2-1 (church courtyard and lake entry path) · 3-2 (maze)

They hunt in packs and leap. Shotgun as they jump, or put your back to a wall; once hurt they unfurl Plaga tentacles and hit from further away.

Weak point
Fire: one incendiary kills them instantly
Drops
Nothing fixed

Zealot (Los Illuminados)

Ganado 3-1 → 4-4

Crossbow zealots are the priority: they shoot from range. Wooden-shield ones walk straight at you: shotgun or circle them. Scythe ones hit hard but slow. Many carry a Plaga: after a decapitation, back off and throw a flash.

Weak point
Head; the shield breaks with a shotgun (or walk around it)
Drops
Pesetas, ammo, Spinels; the red-robed leader drops the Illuminados Pendant

Leader Zealot (goat mask)

Ganado 3-1 (battlements) · 3-2 (Hall of Rites ritual and gallery) · 4-1 (throne room bridge) · 4-4 (tower)

He carries the key or treasure of the section: kill him before he runs. In the 3-2 gallery, if you let him run he reaches the Gatling — top priority (a Flash Grenade as you open the door stuns him). Rifle to the head or shotgun and finish him on the floor.

A Plaga usually bursts out on decapitation: keep a flash ready.

Weak point
Head; takes far more punishment than a normal zealot
Drops
3-2: Illuminados Pendant (ritual) and Gallery Key (gallery) · 4-1: Gold Bangle · 4-4: 5,500pts · pesetas elsewhere

Novistador

Special 3-2 (sewers, invisible) · 4-1 (ballroom, winged) · 4-2 (cave, winged)

In the sewers: watch for the dripping drool and the splashing, put your back to a wall and shotgun them as they lunge. In the 4-1 ballroom and the 4-2 cave they attack in flight: one shotgun blast in the air kills them. They drop the Eyes: don't skip them (the ballroom's ceiling nest drops a guaranteed Blue Eye).

Weak point
When they turn visible to attack or when hurt
Drops
Green, red and blue Eyes for the Butterfly Lamp

Armadura

Special 3-4 (Ashley's escape) · 4-1 (main gallery east wing)

As Ashley you can only run: keep going and press both QTE buttons when they swing. As Leon: shotgun the helmet until it flies off and finish the Plaga; a flash with the helmet broken kills them instantly. Their axe kills in two hits.

Weak point
The head: destroy the helmet to expose the Plaga, or a straight flash grenade
Drops
Nothing

Plaga (exposed parasite)

Plaga From 2-1 to the finale

Three types sprout from a decapitated body: the tentacle (whip, decapitates Leon), the blade (long scythe, heavy damage) and the spider (detaches and leaps at your face). The same works on all: distance and a flash grenade, or shotgun to the bulb. Never go in with the knife.

Weak point
Flash grenade: instantly kills any exposed Plaga
Drops
Whatever the host carried

Soldier (military Ganado)

Ganado 5-1 → final

Tougher than villagers. Rifle from range, shotgun in corridors. Stun-rod ones stun you: don't let them close in. Shoot the dynamite carriers' hand so they blow up the ones around them. Riot-shield ones: Broken Butterfly or circle them. The Gatling one (J.J.) is under Bosses.

Weak point
Head and knee; the dynamite in their hand explodes if you shoot it
Drops
Pesetas, ammo; the area's crates

Hammer soldier (armoured Ganado)

Ganado 5-1 (security corridor, lounge, storage area) · 5-2 (storage area, incinerator access, incinerator) · 5-4 (passage to Luis's machine)

No ranged weapon, but one hammer blow takes half your health. Rifle or Red9 to the head from range and shotgun if he closes in; a TMP shot to the leg drops him for the finisher.

Weak point
Head: the body armour soaks up torso shots
Drops
Pesetas, ammo

Crows

Wildlife 1-1 onwards

Shoot the first before they scatter, or throw a Flash Grenade at the flock of 15 in the quarry (1-3): it kills them all. Worth it: some of the best drops in the village.

Weak point
Any single shot
Drops
Pesetas, Spinels and sometimes grenades or ammo

Snakes

Wildlife Village and castle (crates, vases and barrels)

They come out of crates when you break them and bite: knife the crate and step back. Cut ones leave an egg: heal with it or sell it.

Weak point
Knife or one shot
Drops
Egg (brown or white)

Fish (Black Bass)

Wildlife 1-2 (sewage plant) · 1-3 and 2-1 (lake)

Fish from the shore before Del Lago: the Black Bass L takes 2 slots but heals fully. They keep spawning after the lake fight.

Weak point
One shot or the harpoon from the boat
Drops
Black Bass (healing) and Black Bass L (full heal)
