121 on Normal (117 on Easy, 110 on Madhouse), spread almost entirely over the Main House (25), the Processing Area (11), the Old House (16), the Boat House (45) and the Guest House attic in the finale (10). The lock-pick boxes in the Small Workshop (6) and on the Balcony (4) also hold shells.

Ammo for the M37 Shotgun and the M21 Shotgun. They cannot be crafted: save them for Molded up close, Crawler Molded and bosses. 30 per slot.

In Not a Hero, Chris uses Shotgun Ammo, a different item. In End of Zoe, the unlockable M21 comes with 7 shells on Normal (2 loaded, 5 in the Item Box).
