Only the Throwing Spear kills it (1000 damage per spear)

Joe can't handle them hand to hand and they can't be stealth-killed: only Throwing Spears (Tree Branch + Scrap Metal) kill them. Watch for ripples in the water, sneak past when you can and have a Throwing Spear readied before you step into water. In Quarantine Area 1 a stuffed alligator toy surfaces as a decoy, and the real one is right behind it. Spears that miss can be picked up again.

800 HP (700 for the two Joe Must Die-only ones). Normal: 23 (19 on Joe Must Die). Base Path 1; Base River 6; Quarantine Area 1: Stilt House Underside 2, Lake 5 and Lake Exit 1; Quarantine Area 2: Southern Water Pool 3, Central 2 and Northern 3. In the river: one spear for the first gator straight ahead, another for the one by the mud wall on the left, then go up the Riverbank and take the spear from the dead gator on the east platform (one guide gets 2 from that carcass); one more covers the gator guarding the boat entrance. Under Stilted Cabin 3, dead gators hold 3 Throwing Spears.
