Walkthrough
Forest Haven is guarded by wooden Koroks and the Great Deku Tree. Talk to the Great Deku Tree to receive the Deku Leaf, essential for gliding and for blowing wind into the boat’s sail.
Before entering the Forbidden Woods (dungeon 2), explore inside the tree and climb the mushroom platforms with the Deku Leaf to find the hidden fairies.
Forbidden Woods: poisoned water raises and lowers the dungeon’s overall water level — use the Deku Leaf to glide over it. You rescue Makar, the musician Korok, caged up inside, and get the Boomerang in the main room.
⚠️ The Forbidden Woods has one of the game’s most disorienting rooms: the circular chamber with the toxic water. Use the map and clear it level by level instead of rushing straight for the boss.
Boss — Kalle Demos
Cut the vines hanging from the ceiling with the Boomerang — the plant drops and exposes its head. Strike it with your sword until it closes back up, then repeat. Alternative: if you have Forest Water (found inside the dungeon) and pour it on its weak point, it dies instantly.
After the fight, you get Farore’s Pearl and free Makar, who briefly joins you.
