Walkthrough
On Dragon Roost Island you meet the Rito Chieftain and Medli, the harpist. Valoo, the dragon protecting the island, is furious and breathing fire for no apparent reason — your job is to climb the cavern and find out why.
- The post office, run by Baito the mailman, has a 25-letter sorting minigame — win it for Piece of Heart #6.
- Give 20 Golden Feathers to the guard at the entrance for Piece of Heart #11 (mailed to you afterward).
Dragon Roost Cavern (dungeon 1): use bombs to open passages and the spinning platforms to climb floors. You get the Bow partway through — essential from here on. Medli joins you for the last stretch, and at the top she gives you the Grappling Hook.
⚠️ Before facing Gohma, use the chart dropped by the cavern’s enemies: it leads to a Piece of Heart on Crescent Moon Island (#13).
Boss — Gohma
Use the Grappling Hook on Valoo’s tail (visible through the gap in the ceiling) to swing across and drop a chunk of ceiling onto Gohma’s shell. Repeat three times to fully crack it open, exposing her eye. Grapple the eye to pull her close and finish her off with your sword.
After the fight, Valoo grants you Din’s Pearl and names you the Chosen Hero of Winds.

- Piece of Heart #13 — cavern’s treasure chart, on Crescent Moon Island.
