The Well, the Graveyard, and the Shadow Temple

Nocturne of ShadowShadow TempleBongo Bongo

Walkthrough

Kakariko Village has changed: as a child you can now descend into the Bottom of the Well (previously sealed off) and defeat Dead Hand to earn the Lens of Truth, essential for what’s coming. As an adult, the Graveyard hides Dampé’s grave-digging maze — clear it to reach the windmill platform, then play the Song of Storms for Guru-Guru so the water in the well drains and reveals the hidden entrance to the Shadow Temple.

Sheik teaches you the Nocturne of Shadow beside the Composer Brothers’ grave. This is the darkest, most unsettling temple in the game: invisible corridors, a river of blood you can only cross by boat, and enemies you can only see with the Lens of Truth equipped. The Hover Boots appear in a guarded chest and are key to crossing the gaps in the final rooms.

⚠️ The Lens of Truth drains magic constantly — top up at the green magic jars before the longer rooms.

Boss — Bongo Bongo

Equip the Lens of Truth to see the giant drum and the two invisible hands beating it. Shoot arrows at the hands’ eyes until they’re destroyed, then slash the drum’s eye while it’s stunned.

Its defeat wakes Impa as the Sage of Shadow.
