Walkthrough
Climb up to Goron City as an adult and you’ll find it nearly empty — Darunia is grieving what he believes was the death of his adopted son Link (the little Goron from your childhood survived, but the whole tribe fears the dragon Volvagia). Play Saria’s Song to coax him back into dancing, and follow the path that opens up after the Hookshot to the summit, where Sheik teaches you the Bolero of Fire.
Buy the Goron Tunic before heading in if you haven’t already — the heat of the Crater and the temple itself deals constant damage without it. Inside, the Megaton Hammer smashes the boulders blocking almost every new room; use it on the gold switch-plates too, to lower stone bridges over the lava.
⚠️ Without the Goron Tunic you lose hearts every few seconds in the Crater — head back to the Goron City shop if you’re missing it.
Boss — Volvagia
The dragon keeps surfacing from and diving back into the lava. The instant its head pops up, hit it with the Megaton Hammer before it can attack; if it’s slow to surface, position yourself at the center of the stone ring and wait.
Defeating it wakes Darunia as the Sage of Fire and frees Goron City from its fear of the dragon.
